The study investigates the use of autonomous Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems for enterprise knowledge automation and digital workflow optimization. Enterprise knowledge automation transforms tacit and experiential knowledge into digital representations while digital workflow optimization automates repetitive and decision-based tasks. Such systems integrate and orchestrate planning, decision making, and execution capabilities. Various architectural patterns and technologies facilitate autonomous knowledge acquisition, representation, reasoning, decision making, integration, ecosystem compatibility, workflow orchestration, task automation, and event handling. The research aims to design autonomous AI systems that align with enterprise objectives, enhance performance, and enable transparent evaluation.
The intent is to demonstrate how enterprise systems with knowledge automation and digital workflow optimization capabilities can improve operations across various functions. The main outcomes comprise a knowledge management system with support for content recommendation, an AI-enhanced customer support chatbot, and a business process managed integration of different functional units. Enhanced learning and adaptive capabilities are expected in addition to process efficiency. Knowledge acquisition, representation, and organization, as well as conversational interface design, personalization, contextual coherence, and consistency, are considered crucial. Additional functionality covers multi-expert assessment, event-based business process execution, and the ability to cope with alternative incident resolution paths.
